Avijit Mukul Kishore

Avijit Mukul Kishore is a filmmaker and cinematographer based in Mumbai. He works in documentary films and inter-disciplinary moving-image practices, often collaborating with visual artists on video and film based art works. He is also involved in cinema pedagogy as a lecturer and curator of film programmes. Kishore studied cinematography at Film and Television Institute of India, Pune and holds a bachelor's degree in History from Hindu College, University of Delhi. His works have been shown at Documenta 14 at Athens, Chicago Architecture Biennial, Dhaka Art Summit in addition to several film festivals, academic and cultural spaces. His films as director include The Garden of Forgotten Snow, Squeeze Lime in Your Eye, Nostalgia for the Future (co-directed by Rohan Shivkumar), Vertical City, To Let the World In and Snapshots from a Family Album. His films as cinematographer include Lovely Villa, Kumar Talkies, Kali Salwaar (The Black Garment), John and Jane, Seven Islands and a Metro, Bidesia in Bambai, I am Micro and An Old Dog’s Diary.
